About
Jaqualyn's Light Prevails is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of gun violence, while also uplifting positive narratives to help people see the good in others.
The foundation was created in honor of 18-year-old Jaqualyn Paxton, whose life was taken by gun violence. What began as a tribute to her memory has grown into a community effort to bring hope, healing, and positive change to Texarkana, Arkansas and the surrounding areas.
History
Jaqualyn's Light Prevails was born from a desire to transform loss into purpose. Since its beginning, it has honored Jaqualyn’s legacy through scholarships, youth support programs, and events that bring the community together in unity and awareness.
Outreach
Our work goes beyond scholarships. We provide free food to families in need, offer guidance and anger management support to teens, and host community events such as the annual Gun Violence Awareness gathering in August. These efforts raise awareness about the impact of gun violence while strengthening the community Jaqualyn loved. Each step forward carries her light and ensures her legacy continues to make a difference.
